The Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC) 2016

The Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC) will take place April 4–6, 2016, in Toronto at the Allstream Centre.

TOPHC is hosted jointly by Public Health Ontario, the Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA), and the Association of Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa).

Each day of the three-day convention will be dedicated to addressing one of TOPHCs goals and objectives.

TOPHC aims to advance public health in Ontario by increasing the knowledge and skills in the workforce. TOPHC attracts front-line public health professionals, such as health promoters, epidemiologists, public health nurses, physicians, public health program managers, policy makers, government stakeholders, and researchers. TOPHC includes an exciting mix of presentations that share new knowledge and educational workshops that build and refine practical skills.

The theme for TOPHC 2016 is “Collaborate. Innovate. Transform”. After reflecting on public health’s ability to adapt to a changing world last year, the TOPHC Program Committee challenges participants at TOPHC 2016 to examine how all three actions (collaboration, innovation and transformation) can work in unison to move public health forward. By thinking critically of the intersections of these three areas both within the health and social sectors as well as across other sectors (e.g. education and environment), we can better chart a course forward in an ever-evolving public health world and produce better health outcomes for the populations we serve.
